Denham

Denham is a village and civil parish in the South Buckinghamshire district of Buckinghamshire, England. It is north west of Uxbridge and north of junction 1 of the M40 motorway. Denham contains the Buckinghamshire Golf Club.

Denham's existence is first recorded in the 11th century, with a place-name probably derived from the Old English for "homestead in a valley". It was historically part of the parish of Iver and became a separate civil parish in 1896.

Geography[edit | edit source]

Denham is located in the South Buckinghamshire district of Buckinghamshire, England. It is situated north west of Uxbridge and north of junction 1 of the M40 motorway. The village is surrounded by open countryside, including Denham Country Park, Denham Quarry and the Colne Valley regional park.

Landmarks[edit | edit source]

Denham is home to the Buckinghamshire Golf Club, a private members club which was designed by John Jacobs. The village also contains several listed buildings, including Denham Court Mansion and St. Mary's Church.

Transport[edit | edit source]

Denham is served by Denham railway station on the Chiltern Main Line, and by the M40 motorway. The village is also close to Heathrow Airport.
