Derek Theler (born October 29, 1986) is an American actor and model. He is best known for his role as Danny Wheeler in the ABC Family comedy series Baby Daddy.

Early life[edit | edit source]

Derek Theler was born in Fort Collins, Colorado. He grew up in Colorado and developed an interest in acting at a young age. Theler attended Colorado State University, where he graduated with a degree in pre-medicine.

Career[edit | edit source]

Theler began his career in the entertainment industry as a model, appearing in commercials for brands such as Nike, Kayak.com, Arby's, and State Farm. He made his acting debut in 2009 with a small role in the television series The Middle.

In 2012, Theler landed his breakthrough role as Danny Wheeler in the ABC Family sitcom Baby Daddy. The show ran for six seasons and earned Theler a significant fan base. His character, Danny Wheeler, is a professional hockey player and the older brother of the main character, Ben Wheeler, played by Jean-Luc Bilodeau.

Theler has also appeared in other television series, including Cougar Town, The Hills, and 90210. In addition to his television work, he has acted in films such as Shark Killer and How Sarah Got Her Wings.

In 2017, Theler was cast as Craig Hollis / Mister Immortal in the Marvel Cinematic Universe television series New Warriors. However, the series was not picked up by a network.

Derek Theler is known for his athletic build and has been open about his fitness regimen. He is also an advocate for diabetes awareness, as he was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at a young age.
