From WikiMD's Wellness Encyclopedia

Dicos is a popular fast food chain in the People's Republic of China. Established in Chengdu in 1994, it is owned by the Ting Hsin International Group. The chain ranks third among China's fast food enterprises, only surpassed by KFC and McDonald's.

History[edit | edit source]

Dicos was founded by the Ting Hsin International Group, a Taiwan-based company, in 1994. The first Dicos outlet was opened in Chengdu, and the brand quickly expanded across the country. As of 2020, Dicos operates over 2,500 outlets in China.

Menu[edit | edit source]

Dicos' menu primarily consists of fried chicken, burgers, and other fast food items. However, it also includes items that cater to local Chinese tastes, such as rice dishes and soy milk drinks. The chain is known for its spicy fried chicken, which is a nod to the spicy cuisine of its home province, Sichuan.

Business Model[edit | edit source]

Dicos operates on a franchise model, with the majority of its outlets owned and operated by franchisees. The company provides training and support to its franchisees to ensure consistency in service and food quality across all outlets.

Reception[edit | edit source]

Dicos is well-received in China for its combination of Western fast food and local flavors. It is particularly popular among young people and is seen as a more affordable alternative to KFC and McDonald's.
