Doc Adams is a fictional character in the long-running American television series Gunsmoke. The character was portrayed by actor Milburn Stone and appeared in the series from its inception in 1955 until its conclusion in 1975. Doc Adams is the town physician of Dodge City, a frontier town in the American Old West.
