Doctor Mid-Nite (Beth Chapel)
Doctor Mid-Nite (Beth Chapel) is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. She is one of the characters who have taken on the mantle of Doctor Mid-Nite, a superhero identity originally created by Charles Reizenstein and Stan Aschmeier in 1941.

Beth Chapel first appeared in Infinity, Inc. #19 in 1985, created by Roy Thomas and Todd McFarlane. She was introduced as a member of the superhero team Infinity, Inc., which consisted of the children and protégés of the Justice Society of America (JSA).
Fictional Character Biography[edit | edit source]
Beth Chapel was a promising young medical doctor who worked as a resident at Gotham General Hospital. During the Crisis on Infinite Earths, she was injured in an explosion that left her blind. However, she discovered that she could see in complete darkness, a power similar to that of the original Doctor Mid-Nite, Charles McNider.
Becoming Doctor Mid-Nite[edit | edit source]
Inspired by McNider, Beth took on the mantle of Doctor Mid-Nite and joined Infinity, Inc.. She used her medical knowledge and newfound abilities to fight crime and assist her teammates. Beth's tenure as Doctor Mid-Nite was marked by her dedication to both her medical career and her superhero duties.
Death and Legacy[edit | edit source]
Beth Chapel's career as Doctor Mid-Nite was tragically cut short during the events of Eclipso: The Darkness Within in 1992. She was killed by the villain Eclipso along with several other heroes. Despite her death, Beth Chapel's legacy continued to influence future generations of heroes, and she is remembered as a dedicated and compassionate hero.

Beth Chapel possessed the ability to see in complete darkness, a power that allowed her to operate effectively as Doctor Mid-Nite. She was also a skilled physician and surgeon, using her medical expertise to aid her teammates and treat injuries sustained in battle.
