Donald Trump is an American businessman, television personality, and politician who served as the 45th President of the United States from January 20, 2017, to January 20, 2021. Before entering politics, he was a businessman and television personality.
Early Life[edit | edit source]
Donald John Trump was born on June 14, 1946, in Queens, New York City. He earned an economics degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and took charge of his family's real estate business in 1971, renamed it The Trump Organization, and expanded its operations from Queens and Brooklyn into Manhattan.
Business Career[edit | edit source]
Trump's business career primarily involved real estate, hospitality, and entertainment ventures. He managed the expansion and operation of the family real estate company, The Trump Organization, which built, renovated, and managed numerous properties in the United States and around the world.
Television Career[edit | edit source]
Before his presidency, Trump was known for his television career, most notably as the host of the reality show The Apprentice. The show, which aired on NBC, featured contestants competing for a management job within Trump's organization.
Political Career[edit | edit source]
Trump's political career began in earnest in 2015 when he announced his candidacy for the presidency of the United States as a Republican. He was elected in November 2016 and served as the 45th president from 2017 to 2021. His presidency was marked by significant controversy and several major policy initiatives, including tax reform, deregulation, and a hardline approach to immigration.

Trump has been married three times and has five children and ten grandchildren. His first two marriages ended in widely publicized divorces.
