Dorie Greenspan (born October 28, 1952) is an American pastry chef and cookbook author. She is best known for her books Baking: From My Home to Yours and Dorie's Cookies.

Early life and education[edit | edit source]

Greenspan was born in Brooklyn, New York on October 28, 1952. She developed an interest in baking at a young age and began experimenting with recipes in her mother's kitchen. She attended college at New York University where she studied journalism.

Career[edit | edit source]

After college, Greenspan worked as a food writer and editor for various publications. She eventually decided to pursue her passion for baking and attended culinary school in Paris, France. This experience greatly influenced her approach to pastry and she began developing her own unique recipes.

Greenspan has worked with renowned chefs such as Pierre Hermé and Daniel Boulud. She has also collaborated with various food brands and appeared on cooking shows.
