Downtown Aquarium (Houston)
Downtown Aquarium, Houston is a public aquarium and restaurant located in Houston, Texas, United States. It is owned and operated by Landry's, Inc., a multinational, diversified restaurant, hospitality, gaming, and entertainment conglomerate based in Houston. The Downtown Aquarium combines the fascination of an aquarium with the excitement of a variety of other attractions, including rides, a restaurant, and entertainment venues. The facility is an accredited member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA), signifying its commitment to animal care, wildlife conservation, and education.

The Downtown Aquarium was developed from two Houston landmarks: Fire Station No. 1 and the Central Waterworks Building. The project was spearheaded by Landry's, Inc. CEO Tilman Fertitta, who envisioned a world-class entertainment complex. It opened in 2003, after a significant transformation that melded the historic structures with modern aquatic exhibits and attractions. The site covers 6 acres and features a 500,000-gallon aquatic wonderland with 200 species of exotic global residents.
