Droopy is an animated cartoon character, an anthropomorphic dog with a droopy face, hence his name. He was created by Tex Avery and first appeared in the 1943 cartoon Dumb-Hounded. Droopy was created by Tex Avery at the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer cartoon studio. He made his debut in the 1943 cartoon Dumb-Hounded, where he was initially known as "Happy Hound." The character was later renamed Droopy and became a recurring figure in MGM's animated shorts.
