Dubai is the most populous city in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the capital of the Emirate of Dubai. Located in the eastern part of the Arabian Peninsula on the coast of the Persian Gulf, Dubai aims to be the business hub of Western Asia. It is also a major global transport hub for passengers and cargo.

Dubai's history can be traced back to 3000 BC. The city was known to be a hub for fishing and pearl diving for many years before oil was discovered in the region. The city's modern era began in the 1970s, when oil revenue started to flow in. This led to a period of rapid development and modernization that transformed Dubai into a global city.

Dubai's economy is largely based on tourism, aviation, real estate, and financial services. The city is known for its luxury shopping, ultramodern architecture and a lively nightlife scene. Dubai is also a hub for service industries such as information technology and finance.

Dubai has a number of well-known and internationally recognized schools and universities. These include the American University in Dubai, the University of Wollongong in Dubai, and the British University in Dubai among others.

Dubai has a large and sophisticated healthcare system, with a large number of both public and private hospitals and clinics. The city is also a hub for medical tourism, with people traveling from around the world to take advantage of its advanced medical facilities.
