Dudley Peter Allen (March 26, 1852 – January 6, 1915) was an American surgeon and medical educator. He made significant contributions to the field of surgery and was a prominent figure in the medical community during his time.

Dudley Peter Allen was born on March 26, 1852, in Kinsman, Ohio. He attended Western Reserve College (now Case Western Reserve University) where he earned his undergraduate degree. He then pursued his medical education at Harvard Medical School, graduating in 1878.

After completing his medical degree, Allen returned to Cleveland, Ohio, where he began his practice. He quickly became known for his skill and expertise in surgery. In 1884, he was appointed as a professor of surgery at the Medical Department of Western Reserve University.

Allen was instrumental in advancing surgical techniques and was known for his work in abdominal surgery. He published numerous articles and papers on various surgical topics, contributing to the medical literature of his time.
