ESPN College Extra
ESPN College Extra[edit | edit source]
ESPN College Extra is a sports television service in the United States that is owned by ESPN Inc., a joint venture between The Walt Disney Company and Hearst Communications. The service was launched on September 5, 2015, and it provides coverage of college sports events from various conferences across the country.
History[edit | edit source]
ESPN College Extra was introduced as a replacement for the defunct ESPN GamePlan and ESPN Full Court services, which focused on college football and basketball, respectively. The service was designed to offer a broader range of college sports content, including football, basketball, baseball, softball, and more.
Programming[edit | edit source]
ESPN College Extra broadcasts live college sports events that are not available on the main ESPN networks. The service features games from conferences such as the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), Big 12 Conference, Mid-American Conference (MAC), and others. It provides coverage of both men's and women's sports, including:
- College football
- College basketball
- College baseball
- College softball
Availability[edit | edit source]
ESPN College Extra is available to subscribers of participating cable and satellite television providers. The service is typically offered as part of a sports package or as an add-on to a basic cable subscription. It is also accessible through the ESPN App, allowing viewers to stream games live on their digital devices.
Related Services[edit | edit source]
ESPN College Extra complements other ESPN services that focus on college sports, such as ESPN+, which offers additional streaming content, and the SEC Network, which is dedicated to the Southeastern Conference.
