Echigoshirayukidake is a mountain located in the Uonuma region of Niigata Prefecture, Japan. It is one of the 100 Famous Japanese Mountains and has an elevation of 2,127 meters.

Overview[edit | edit source]

Echigoshirayukidake is part of the Echigo Mountains, a mountain range in the Chūbu region of Japan. The mountain is located within the borders of the Joshin'etsu-kōgen National Park. The mountain is known for its beautiful scenery, especially during the winter season when it is covered in snow.

Climbing Routes[edit | edit source]

There are several climbing routes to the summit of Echigoshirayukidake. The most popular route starts from the Echigo Yuzawa Onsen town. The climb is considered moderate and can be completed in one day.

Flora and Fauna[edit | edit source]

The mountain is home to a variety of plant and animal species. The lower slopes of the mountain are covered in beech forests, while the higher elevations are home to alpine plants. Wildlife on the mountain includes the Japanese serow and various species of birds.
