Edward Bove

Edward Bove was born in New York City. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Notre Dame, and later pursued his medical degree from the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center. He completed his general surgery residency at the University of Michigan, where he also completed his cardiothoracic surgery fellowship.

Edward Bove began his career at the University of Michigan Health System, where he served as the head of the Division of Pediatric Cardiovascular Surgery for over three decades. Bove is known for developing the stage repair approach for treating hypoplastic left heart syndrome, a severe form of congenital heart defect.
