Elisabet Helsing

At the WHO, Helsing played a key role in developing the organization's policies on infant feeding. She was instrumental in the creation of the International Code of Marketing of Breast-milk Substitutes, a global health policy framework for advertising formula milk. This code has been adopted by many countries and has significantly reduced the inappropriate marketing of breast-milk substitutes.
Helsing has also been involved in numerous research projects related to breastfeeding and infant nutrition. Her work has contributed to a better understanding of the benefits of breastfeeding and the risks associated with formula feeding.
