Impacted tooth
(Redirected from Embedded teeth)
Impacted Tooth is a dental condition where a tooth fails to fully pass through the gums. This is a common condition for wisdom teeth, but can happen to any tooth.
Causes[edit | edit source]
Impacted teeth can occur for a variety of reasons. The most common cause is a lack of space in the mouth. This can occur if the jaw is too small to accommodate all of the teeth. Other causes can include misalignment of the teeth or the presence of extra teeth.
Symptoms[edit | edit source]
Symptoms of an impacted tooth can vary depending on the severity of the impaction. Some people may experience no symptoms at all. However, common symptoms can include pain, swelling, and infection of the gum tissue surrounding the impacted tooth. Other symptoms can include bad breath, difficulty opening the mouth, and an unpleasant taste in the mouth.
Treatment[edit | edit source]
Treatment for an impacted tooth can vary depending on the severity of the impaction. In some cases, no treatment may be necessary. However, if the impacted tooth is causing discomfort or potential damage to other teeth, treatment may be necessary. This can include extraction of the tooth or orthodontic treatment to align the teeth properly.
