EpiData
EpiData is a group of applications used in combination for creating documented data structures and analysis of data. The software is developed by EpiData Association based in Odense, Denmark. The development started in 1997 and was initiated by Jens Lauritsen.
Overview[edit | edit source]
EpiData software is used for data entry and documentation of data by means of a data entry form and structured documentation. The software includes functions for data entry, documentation, and validation. The main components of EpiData are the EpiData Entry and EpiData Manager applications.
EpiData Entry[edit | edit source]
EpiData Entry is the initial data entry component of EpiData, used for simple or programmed data entry and data documentation. EpiData Entry handles simple forms or related systems optimized for entry of data with a wide range of features to allow data entry with checks, multiple data entry, double data entry, and controlled access for data entry.
EpiData Manager[edit | edit source]
EpiData Manager is a dynamic tool for managing, documenting, and defining data. It allows for defining a project, documenting the data, and creating data entry forms. EpiData Manager is used for defining new data structures, modifying existing ones, and documenting the database with extended labels.
Applications[edit | edit source]
EpiData is used in a variety of fields including research, clinical studies, public health, and many others. It is particularly useful in situations where data is to be entered from paper forms.
