Estuaries
Estuaries are dynamic, coastal environments where freshwater from rivers and streams meets and mixes with saltwater from the ocean. These unique ecosystems are among the most productive on Earth, supporting a diverse array of plant and animal life. They play a crucial role in the life cycles of many species, including commercially important fish and shellfish.
