Eukanuba is a brand of dog food and cat food owned by Mars, Incorporated. The brand was originally developed by Paul Iams, the founder of the Iams Company, in 1969. Eukanuba products are known for their high-quality ingredients and are marketed as premium pet food.

The Eukanuba brand was created by Paul Iams in 1969. The name "Eukanuba" was derived from a term used in jazz culture meaning "the best" or "supreme." The brand was developed to provide a high-protein diet for dogs, using animal-based proteins as the primary ingredient.

In 1999, the Iams Company was acquired by Procter & Gamble. In 2014, Mars, Incorporated purchased the Eukanuba brand, along with the Iams and Natura pet food brands, from Procter & Gamble.
