Eutychius

Eutychius (also known as Eutychius of Alexandria) was a leading physician and author of the 10th century. He is best known for his work in the field of medicine and his contributions to the Islamic Golden Age. His most notable work is the Tarikh, a comprehensive history of the world from the Creation to his own time.

Life[edit | edit source]

Eutychius was born in Fustat, Egypt in 877 AD. He was educated in medicine and became a leading physician in his time. He was appointed as the personal physician to several caliphs, including Al-Mu'izz li-Din Allah and Al-Aziz Billah. He died in 940 AD.

Eutychius is best known for his work Tarikh, a comprehensive history of the world from the Creation to his own time. The work is notable for its detailed accounts of biblical, Jewish, Christian, and Islamic history. It also includes information on the Byzantine Empire and the Sasanian Empire.

Eutychius' work has been influential in the field of medicine and history. His Tarikh is considered a valuable source of information on the history of the Islamic world and the Middle East.
