In the field of medicine, an expert is a healthcare professional who is highly trained and knowledgeable in a specific medical specialty, such as cardiology, neurology, or pediatrics. These experts often have years of education and practical experience, and they may also be involved in research or teaching within their specialty.
Expert Witness[edit | edit source]
An expert witness is a person who is permitted to testify at a trial because of special knowledge or proficiency in a particular field that is relevant to the case. This is in contrast to lay witnesses, who can only testify to the facts, and not to matters of opinion.
