- Fairchild Air Force Base (AFB) is a United States Air Force (USAF) base located approximately 12 miles southwest of Spokane, Washington. The base is named in honor of General Muir S. Fairchild, a World War II Air Force leader. It is the home of the 92nd Air Refueling Wing, and is a key facility in the USAF's global reach strategy.
