Spokane Valley is a city in Spokane County, Washington, United States. It is located east of Spokane and west of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. The city was officially incorporated on March 31, 2003, making it one of the newest cities in the state of Washington.

The area now known as Spokane Valley has a rich history that dates back to the early 19th century. It was originally inhabited by the Spokane Tribe, who lived along the Spokane River. The arrival of European settlers in the mid-1800s led to the establishment of small farming communities. The development of the Northern Pacific Railway in the late 19th century spurred further growth and development in the region.

Spokane Valley is situated in the Inland Northwest region of the United States. The city covers a total area of 38.06 square miles, of which 37.77 square miles is land and 0.29 square miles is water.
