- Falmouth is a historic town and census-designated place (CDP) in Stafford County, Virginia, United States. The population was 4,274 at the 2010 census. Located on the north bank of the Rappahannock River, Falmouth was established in 1728 and was originally a port town on the Rappahannock.

- Falmouth's history dates back to the colonial times. It was originally settled by English colonists in the 17th century. The town was chartered in 1728 and grew rapidly as a port for the tobacco trade with England.
Geography[edit | edit source]
- Falmouth is located at 38°19′54″N 77°27′54″W. According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 3.2 square miles, of which, 3.1 square miles of it is land and 0.1 square miles of it is water.
