Family Fare is a part of the SpartanNash company, which is a Fortune 500 company and one of the leading food distributors in the United States.

Family Fare was established in the mid-20th century, with its first store opening in Michigan. The chain has since expanded to operate in several states across the country. In 2013, Family Fare became a part of the SpartanNash company, following the merger of Spartan Stores and Nash Finch Company.
