Fareway is a grocery store chain based in Boone, Iowa, United States. It was founded in 1938 by Paul S. Beckwith, and his daughter, Fred E. Vitt, served as the chairman of Fareway's board until his death in 2018. The company operates more than 120 store locations in Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, Nebraska, and South Dakota.

Paul S. Beckwith founded Fareway in 1938. The first store was located in Boone, Iowa. The company was named "Fareway" as a play on the word "fairway," reflecting Beckwith's love of golf. The company expanded rapidly throughout the Midwest, opening its 100th store in 2004.

Fareway operates on a self-service model, with customers selecting their own groceries and household items. The stores are known for their meat departments, which offer a full range of fresh, high-quality meats. Fareway also offers a wide variety of fresh produce, dairy products, and baked goods.
