Farrokh Saidi
Farrokh Saidi is a renowned Iranian surgeon and medical educator, known for his significant contributions to the field of medicine in Iran. He was born on 1st January 1925 in Tehran, Iran.
Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]
Farrokh Saidi was born into a family with a strong medical background. His father was a well-known physician in Tehran. Saidi completed his early education in Tehran and later moved to the United States for his higher studies. He graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in medicine in 1950.
Career[edit | edit source]
After completing his education, Saidi returned to Iran and started his medical practice. He served as a professor at the Tehran University and played a significant role in the development of the medical education system in Iran. He was also the founder of the Iranian Association of Surgeons and served as its president for many years.
Saidi is known for his pioneering work in the field of thoracic surgery. He performed the first successful heart transplant in Iran in 1993. He has also contributed significantly to the field of organ transplantation in Iran.
Awards and Recognition[edit | edit source]
Saidi has received numerous awards and recognition for his contributions to the field of medicine. He was awarded the National Medal of Merit in 2005 for his services to the medical profession. He was also honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Iranian Association of Surgeons in 2010.

Saidi is married and has two children. He is known for his dedication to his profession and his commitment to improving the medical education system in Iran.
