Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya
Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya is a Turkish politician and engineer. She is a member of the Justice and Development Party (AKP) and has served in various governmental roles, including as the Minister of Family and Social Policies.
Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]
Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya was born on January 31, 1981, in Istanbul, Turkey. She completed her primary and secondary education in Istanbul. Kaya graduated from the Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine. She later pursued further studies in the field of engineering and obtained a degree in computer engineering from the New York University Tandon School of Engineering.
Political Career[edit | edit source]
Kaya began her political career as a member of the Justice and Development Party (AKP). She has held various positions within the party, including roles in the party's youth and women's branches.
Minister of Family and Social Policies[edit | edit source]
In May 2016, Kaya was appointed as the Minister of Family and Social Policies in the cabinet of Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım. During her tenure, she focused on issues related to family, women's rights, and social welfare.
Diplomatic Incident in the Netherlands[edit | edit source]
In March 2017, Kaya was involved in a diplomatic incident in the Netherlands. She was denied entry to the Turkish consulate in Rotterdam and was subsequently escorted out of the country by Dutch authorities. This incident led to a significant diplomatic row between Turkey and the Netherlands.

Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya is married and has two children. She is fluent in Turkish and English.
