Flagey-lès-Auxonne
Flagey-lès-Auxonne is a commune in the Côte-d'Or department in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region of eastern France. The inhabitants of the commune are known as Flageyens or Flageyennes.
Geography[edit | edit source]
Flagey-lès-Auxonne is located some 15 km south-east of Dijon and 5 km north-west of Auxonne. Access to the commune is by the D905 road from Auxonne in the south-east which passes through the village and continues north-west to Perrigny-sur-l'Ognon. The D24 road also comes from Lamarche-sur-Saône in the north-east passing through the village and continuing south-west to Billey. The commune is mostly farmland with some forest in the south.
History[edit | edit source]
The village was known as Flagey in the Middle Ages. It was a parish in the diocese of Besançon and presented by the Chapter of Saint-Vincent of Besançon. The village was looted and burned during the Thirty Years' War.
Administration[edit | edit source]
Flagey-lès-Auxonne is part of the Community of communes of Auxonne and the Val de Saône.
Population[edit | edit source]
In 2017, the commune had 204 inhabitants, an increase of 7.37% compared to 2007.
