  2. In a bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs and melted butter. Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9-inch pie dish to form the crust.
  3. In a saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat until it starts to steam.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the sugar, cornstarch, salt, and egg yolks until well combined.
  5. Slowly pour the hot milk into the egg yolk mixture, whisking constantly.
  6. Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it thickens and comes to a boil.
  7. Remove the custard from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  8. Pour the custard into the prepared graham cracker crust.
  9. In a clean bowl, beat the egg whites until soft peaks form. Gradually add the sugar and continue beating until stiff peaks form.
  10. Spread the meringue over the custard, making sure to seal the edges.
  11. Bake the pie in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the meringue is golden brown.
  12. Remove from the oven and let it cool completely before serving.
