The Flexor Carpi Radialis Muscle is one of the muscles of the forearm that flexes and abducts the wrist. It originates from the medial epicondyle of the humerus and inserts into the base of the second and third metacarpal bones.

Anatomy

The Flexor Carpi Radialis Muscle is located on the anterior side of the forearm, immediately below the elbow. It is one of the five main muscles that control movements at the wrist. This muscle is responsible for flexion and radial abduction of the hand and wrist.

Function

The primary function of the Flexor Carpi Radialis Muscle is to flex and abduct the wrist. It also assists in the flexion of the elbow.
