Food Addicts Anonymous
Food Addicts Anonymous
Food Addicts Anonymous (FAA) is a fellowship of individuals who, through shared experience and mutual support, are recovering from food addiction. The organization follows a twelve-step program similar to that of Alcoholics Anonymous.
History[edit]
Food Addicts Anonymous was founded in 1987 by a group of individuals who recognized the need for a program specifically addressing food addiction. The organization was established to provide support and guidance to those struggling with compulsive eating and food-related issues.
Program[edit]
The FAA program is based on the Twelve-step program model, which includes admitting powerlessness over food, seeking help from a higher power, and making amends for past behaviors. Members are encouraged to attend regular meetings, work with a sponsor, and follow a food plan.
Meetings[edit]
FAA meetings are held in various locations worldwide and are open to anyone who desires to stop eating addictively. Meetings provide a safe and supportive environment where members can share their experiences and offer support to one another.
Food Plan[edit]
The FAA food plan is a structured eating plan designed to help members abstain from addictive foods. It emphasizes balanced nutrition and the elimination of sugar, flour, and wheat from the diet.
Membership[edit]
Membership in Food Addicts Anonymous is open to anyone who has a desire to stop eating addictively. There are no dues or fees for membership; the organization is self-supporting through member contributions.
