- Forsyth is a city in Monroe County, Georgia, United States. It is the county seat of Monroe County. The city is located approximately 25 miles north of Macon, Georgia and is part of the Macon Metropolitan Statistical Area.

- Forsyth was established in 1823 as the county seat of Monroe County. It was incorporated as a town in 1825 and as a city in 1896. The city was named after John Forsyth, who served as the Governor of Georgia from 1827 to 1829.

- Forsyth is located in the central part of Georgia. The city is surrounded by beautiful landscapes, including the Piedmont National Wildlife Refuge and High Falls State Park.
