Fort Worth is a city located in the U.S. state of Texas. It is the 13th-largest city in the United States and the fifth-largest city in Texas. Fort Worth is part of the Dallas–Fort Worth–Arlington metropolitan area, which is the fourth-largest metropolitan area in the United States.

Fort Worth was established in 1849 as an army outpost on a bluff overlooking the Trinity River. The city was named after General William Jenkins Worth, a hero of the Mexican–American War.

Fort Worth has a diverse economy with key industries including aerospace, defense, healthcare, and transportation. The city is home to several multinational corporations and has a strong presence in the energy sector.
