- Forty Fort is a borough in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 4,214 at the 2010 census. Its name comes from the number of Connecticut settlers, forty to be exact, who established a fort along the Susquehanna River in 1770.

- Forty Fort was settled in 1770 by Connecticut residents who were hoping to claim the Wyoming Valley for their colony. The American Revolutionary War had a significant impact on the town, with the Battle of Wyoming taking place nearby.

- Forty Fort is located at 41°17′14″N 75°52′30″W. According to the United States Census Bureau, the borough has a total area of 0.8 square miles (2.1 km2), all of it land.
