Fox Network
Fox Network[edit | edit source]
The Fox Network, also known as Fox, is a major American commercial broadcast television network. It is owned by the Fox Corporation and was launched on October 9, 1986. Fox is one of the major television networks in the United States, alongside ABC, CBS, and NBC.
History[edit | edit source]
Fox was founded by media mogul Rupert Murdoch and television executive Barry Diller. The network was created to compete with the established "Big Three" television networks. Fox began its journey with a late-night talk show, "The Late Show," hosted by Joan Rivers.
Early Years[edit | edit source]
In its early years, Fox struggled to gain a foothold in the competitive television market. However, it gradually built a reputation for edgy and innovative programming. The network's first major success came with the launch of "The Simpsons" in 1989, which became a cultural phenomenon and is now the longest-running American sitcom.
Expansion and Growth[edit | edit source]
Throughout the 1990s, Fox expanded its programming to include a variety of genres, including drama, comedy, and reality television. Shows like "The X-Files", "Beverly Hills, 90210", and "Married... with Children" helped establish Fox as a major player in the television industry.

- Drama Series: The network has aired popular dramas such as "24", "House", and "Empire".
- Reality Shows: Fox has produced successful reality shows like "American Idol" and "The Masked Singer".
Sports[edit | edit source]
Fox is also a major broadcaster of sports in the United States. The network holds rights to broadcast NFL games, including the Super Bowl, as well as Major League Baseball games, including the World Series.
News[edit | edit source]
Fox operates a news division, Fox News, which is a separate entity from the Fox broadcast network. Fox News is known for its conservative-leaning news coverage and opinion programming.
Ownership[edit | edit source]
Fox Network is part of the Fox Corporation, which was formed following the acquisition of 21st Century Fox by The Walt Disney Company in 2019. The Fox Corporation retains control of the Fox broadcast network, Fox News, and Fox Sports.
