Frïs Vodka
Frïs Vodka is a vodka brand that originated in Denmark. It is known for its unique distillation process and its smooth, clean taste.
History[edit | edit source]
Frïs Vodka was launched in the United States in 1989 by the Danish Distillers. Danish Distillers was Denmark's largest spirits company at the time, and it had been producing spirits since 1881. In 1999, the brand was acquired by the Pernod Ricard Group, a French company that is one of the world's largest producers of spirits and wines.
Production[edit | edit source]
Frïs Vodka is made from 100% whole grain, which is sourced from within a 200-mile radius of the distillery in Denmark. The grain is milled and mixed with water, and then fermented to produce a grain mash. The mash is then distilled four times to produce a high-proof spirit.
The unique aspect of Frïs Vodka's production is its freeze distillation process. This process involves cooling the vodka to sub-zero temperatures, which causes any impurities to freeze and separate from the alcohol. The impurities are then removed, resulting in a vodka that is exceptionally smooth and clean-tasting.
Taste and Mixability[edit | edit source]
Frïs Vodka is known for its smooth, clean taste. It has a slight sweetness and a creamy mouthfeel, with a clean finish. It is often enjoyed neat or on the rocks, but it also mixes well with other ingredients, making it a versatile choice for a variety of cocktails.
Varieties[edit | edit source]
In addition to its original vodka, Frïs also produces several flavored varieties. These include Orange Freeze, Citrus Freeze, and Cherry Freeze. Each of these varieties is made with natural flavors and is designed to be enjoyed on its own or mixed in cocktails.
Awards and Recognition[edit | edit source]
Frïs Vodka has received several awards and accolades for its quality and taste. These include a Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition and a score of 93 points from Wine Enthusiast.
