Frederica of Mecklenburg-Strelitz

Frederica of Mecklenburg-Strelitz (1778–1841) was a German princess who became the Queen of Greece through her marriage to King William IV. She was born on March 3, 1778, in Hanover, Germany, as the daughter of Charles II, Grand Duke of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, and Princess Friederike of Hesse-Darmstadt.

In 1797, Frederica married William, who was then the Duke of Clarence. After William ascended the throne as King of the United Kingdom in 1830, Frederica became Queen consort. The couple had no children.

Frederica was known for her charitable work and involvement in social causes. She supported various philanthropic organizations and was a patron of the arts. Her efforts to improve the welfare of the Greek people during her time as Queen of Greece were particularly notable.

During her later years, Frederica lived in retirement in Germany. She passed away on June 29, 1841, in Ludwigslust, Germany.
