GDCM (Grassroots DICOM) is an open-source, cross-platform library for the handling of DICOM files, which are used for storing and transmitting medical imaging data. GDCM is written in C++ and provides a wide range of features for reading, writing, and manipulating DICOM files, including support for various compression methods, image manipulation, and conversion to other file formats. GDCM is widely used in the medical imaging industry and is the foundation of many DICOM-related applications and libraries.
