GPRC6A (G Protein-Coupled Receptor Class C Group 6 Member A) is a protein that in humans is encoded by the GPRC6A gene. This receptor belongs to the family of G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs), which are integral cell membrane proteins involved in transmitting signals from the outside to the inside of a cell. GPRC6A is considered a broadly sensing receptor, capable of detecting various types of ligands, including amino acids, divalent cations (such as calcium), and osteocalcin. Its wide range of ligands makes it a subject of interest in various physiological and pathological processes.
