Genteal
Genteal is a brand of artificial tears used to relieve dryness and irritation of the eyes. It is commonly used to treat symptoms associated with dry eye syndrome, a condition where the eyes do not produce enough tears or the tears evaporate too quickly. Genteal is available in various formulations, including eye drops and gels, to cater to different levels of dryness and patient needs.
Formulations[edit | edit source]
Genteal offers several formulations to address varying degrees of eye dryness:
- Genteal Mild – Suitable for mild dryness and occasional use.
- Genteal Moderate – Designed for moderate dryness and more frequent use.
- Genteal Severe – Intended for severe dryness and chronic conditions.
- Genteal Gel – Provides long-lasting relief and is often used at night.
Uses[edit | edit source]
Genteal is primarily used to:
- Lubricate the eyes
- Relieve irritation and discomfort caused by dryness
- Protect the eyes from further irritation
- Provide moisture to the eyes
Mechanism of Action[edit | edit source]
Genteal works by mimicking natural tears, providing lubrication and moisture to the surface of the eye. This helps to reduce friction and irritation, promoting comfort and healing. The active ingredients in Genteal typically include carboxymethylcellulose, hypromellose, and polyethylene glycol, which are common in many artificial tear products.
Application[edit | edit source]
To use Genteal, follow these steps: 1. Wash your hands thoroughly. 2. Tilt your head back and pull down the lower eyelid to create a small pocket. 3. Hold the dropper above the eye and squeeze out the prescribed number of drops. 4. Close your eyes for a few minutes to allow the solution to spread evenly. 5. Avoid touching the dropper tip to any surface, including the eye, to prevent contamination.
Side Effects[edit | edit source]
While Genteal is generally safe, some users may experience side effects such as:
- Temporary blurred vision
- Mild stinging or irritation
- Allergic reactions (rare)
If any severe side effects occur, it is important to seek medical attention immediately.
