George Wiedemann
George Wiedemann (1833–1890) was a German-American brewer and entrepreneur who founded the George Wiedemann Brewing Company in Newport, Kentucky. He is recognized for his significant contributions to the brewing industry in the United States during the late 19th century.

George Wiedemann was born in 1833 in Germany. He emigrated to the United States in the mid-19th century, seeking better opportunities and bringing with him a wealth of knowledge about brewing.

Upon arriving in the United States, Wiedemann initially settled in Cincinnati, Ohio, a city known for its large German immigrant population and thriving brewing industry. In 1870, he moved across the Ohio River to Newport, Kentucky, where he established the George Wiedemann Brewing Company. The brewery quickly became one of the largest and most successful in the region.
