Gerda Alexander
Gerda Alexander (1908–1994) was a Danish teacher who is recognized for developing a form of dance therapy known as Eutony. She was born in Czernowitz, Bukovina, which is now part of Ukraine. Alexander's work in the field of dance therapy has had a significant impact on the way physical and mental health issues are treated.

Gerda Alexander was born on February 12, 1908, in Czernowitz, Bukovina. She was interested in dance from a young age and began her training in classical ballet. However, her career as a dancer was cut short due to a severe case of tuberculosis. During her recovery, she developed a new form of body therapy, which she later named Eutony.

After her recovery, Alexander began teaching her method of body therapy. She opened the first Eutony school in Copenhagen in 1957. Her method was well received, and she was invited to teach in several countries, including Germany, Switzerland, and the United States. Alexander's method of body therapy is now recognized as a form of dance therapy and is used in various fields, including psychology, physiotherapy, and education.
