Geremi González was a professional baseball player from Venezuela. He was born on May 8, 1975, in Maracaibo, Venezuela. González was a right-handed pitcher who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for various teams during his career.

Geremi González showed talent in baseball from a young age and was scouted by MLB teams while playing in Venezuela. He signed with the Chicago Cubs as an amateur free agent in 1991.

Professional Career[edit | edit source]

González made his MLB debut with the Chicago Cubs on May 7, 1997. He also played for teams such as the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, Boston Red Sox, New York Mets, and Milwaukee Brewers during his career. González was known for his solid pitching and contributed to his teams in various roles.

Tragic Death[edit | edit source]

On May 25, 2008, Geremi González tragically passed away at the age of 33. He was struck by lightning while at a beach in Venezuela, shocking the baseball community and his fans around the world.
