Golden Flake was founded in 1923 by Frank Mosher and Mose Lischkoff. Originally named Magic City Foods, the company began by selling a variety of snack foods, including potato chips, pork rinds, and cheese puffs. In 1946, the company was renamed Golden Flake.
In 2011, Golden Flake was acquired by Utz Brands, a leading snack food company based in Hanover, Pennsylvania. The acquisition allowed Golden Flake to expand its distribution network and product offerings.
