Golden Wonder was established in 1947 in Stockbridge, Edinburgh, by William Alexander. The company initially focused on producing potato crisps, which quickly gained popularity. By the 1960s, Golden Wonder had become one of the leading crisp manufacturers in the UK.
In the 1980s, Golden Wonder expanded its product range to include other snack foods such as corn snacks and potato-based snacks. The company also introduced a variety of flavors, including cheese and onion, salt and vinegar, and ready salted.
