Great Britain
Great Britain is an island in the North Atlantic Ocean off the northwest coast of continental Europe. It is the largest of the British Isles, the largest European island, and the ninth-largest island in the world. The island is dominated by a maritime climate with narrow temperature differences between seasons.

Great Britain is surrounded by over 1,000 smaller islands and islets. The island is located within the UK's exclusive economic zone and had a 2011 population of about 61 million people, making it the third-most populous island in the world, after Java in Indonesia and Honshu in Japan.
