Gregory John Puciato (born March 27, 1980) is an American musician, singer, and songwriter, best known as the lead vocalist of the mathcore band The Dillinger Escape Plan. He is also the lead singer of the electronic band The Black Queen and the metal supergroup Killer Be Killed. Puciato is known for his versatile vocal style, which ranges from melodic singing to aggressive screaming.

Greg Puciato was born in Baltimore, Maryland. He developed an interest in music at a young age, influenced by a variety of genres including punk rock, heavy metal, and electronic music. Puciato attended Loyola University Maryland, where he studied communications.

Career[edit | edit source]

The Dillinger Escape Plan[edit | edit source]

Puciato joined The Dillinger Escape Plan in 2001, replacing the band's original vocalist Dimitri Minakakis. His first recording with the band was the EP Irony Is a Dead Scene, which featured Mike Patton of Faith No More on vocals. Puciato's first full-length album with the band was Miss Machine, released in 2004. He remained with the band until their disbandment in 2017, contributing to several critically acclaimed albums including Ire Works, Option Paralysis, and One of Us Is the Killer.

The Black Queen[edit | edit source]

In 2015, Puciato formed The Black Queen with Joshua Eustis of Telefon Tel Aviv and Steven Alexander. The band's debut album, Fever Daydream, was released in 2016. The Black Queen's music is characterized by its blend of electronic, synth-pop, and industrial elements.

Killer Be Killed[edit | edit source]

Puciato is also a member of the metal supergroup Killer Be Killed, which includes Max Cavalera of Soulfly, Troy Sanders of Mastodon, and Ben Koller of Converge. The band released their self-titled debut album in 2014, followed by Reluctant Hero in 2020.

Solo Career[edit | edit source]

In 2020, Puciato released his debut solo album, Child Soldier: Creator of God. The album showcases his diverse musical influences, ranging from metal and punk to electronic and ambient music.

Personal Life[edit | edit source]

Puciato is known for his outspoken views on various social and political issues. He is also an advocate for mental health awareness, often discussing his own struggles with anxiety and depression.
