Hải Phòng is a major port city in northeastern Vietnam, known for its rich history, beautiful landscapes, and vibrant culture. It is the third largest city in the country, and one of the most important economic, cultural, educational, scientific and technological centers in the northern region.

Hải Phòng's history dates back to the Nguyễn Dynasty, when it was recognized as a city in 1888. The city played a significant role in Vietnam's struggle for independence during the First Indochina War and the Vietnam War.

Hải Phòng is located in the northeastern part of Vietnam, at the mouth of the Cấm River. It is bordered by Quảng Ninh Province to the north, Hải Dương Province to the west, and the Gulf of Tonkin to the east.
