Habersham County is a county located in the northeastern part of the U.S. state of Georgia. As of the 2020 United States Census, the population was approximately 45,000. The county seat is Clarkesville, and its largest city is Cornelia. Habersham County is included in the Gainesville, GA Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Habersham County was created on December 15, 1818, by the Georgia General Assembly and named after Joseph Habersham, a Revolutionary War patriot and former Postmaster General of the United States. The county was formed from lands that were originally part of Franklin and Rabun Counties. Throughout its history, agriculture, particularly the cultivation of cotton, was the mainstay of the county's economy, although in recent years, manufacturing and service industries have become predominant.
